Mick and Drew’s father has passed away. Good riddance. The man was a terrible bastard. But now the estranged brothers must come together and take a trip to fulfil their father’s dying wish, by scattering his ashes at the top of a Cumbrian mountain called ‘The Old Man’.

As the brothers find themselves reflecting on their deceased father, they discover that their views of him could not be more polarised. Mick, the shambolic, luckless and moistly alcoholic older brother sees his father as a violent monster and the culprit for his own broken life. Drew, the fastidious, uptight, favoured child sees his old man as a heroic, troubled soul.

As the brother’s perspectives collide, over the course of the weekend, they not only uncover a clearer picture of their father, but also a clearer view of themselves.
